The large move down of the last day or so in oil is likely marking the end of the down-leg in this notable wave for black gold and related instruments. Occasionally attenuated by larger waves in this sample since early 2021, it has fairly well punctuated interim periods, most significantly from September 2022 to June 2023. The much longer wave we reported on recently, around 16 months, is likely starting to influence price to the downside so it will be interesting to anticipate the next peak of this shorter wave, expected mid-late December.
